The Format:
The UNSN entirely email and forum based, with no graphics (although deckplans and concept art may be created) or programming. Players are grouped into crews, missions are assigned, and each player contributes to the resolution. In the broader sphere, players battle for promotion, design new ships and link to the real developing space age. Given the near-future setting, there will be a firm base of facts imaginativly developed into a virtual fleet (, marine corps, off-world colonies, space-stations, fighter wing and inter-stellar exploration?).
The Setting:
The year is 2020. The space shuttle program retired almost 10 years ago. Its successor, the Constellation project is billions of budget, yet still on the drawing board.
When China invades Taiwan, the UN are at full alert to stop World War Three. In the end, Russia's new space-launch intercontinental missiles are the only deterrent between peace and total planetary destruction.
Despite the invention of artificial gravity and the perfection of laser technologies, humanity has never considered a military space fleet. Until now.
The United Nations Space Navy is searching for a new breed of astronauts. It is searching for pioneers, legends and heroes.
